Tuesday 13th October was the beginning of a new era of fitness and tennis. Combining the two into a tough workout on the court proved to be a great way to burn calories. The group of enthusiastic players were put through their paces with a warm up which included dynamic stretches and a run through of the 5 stations set up for their workout. After getting the muscles going they were ready to start off with a sequence of shots on court including short balls, wide balls and basically covering every square inch of the court. Without even time to catch their breath they had to work their way through the 5 stations covering step-ups, skipping, holding plank positions, 2kg shoulder presses and cone sprints with tennis balls. Having got their heart rate up after the intense drills they had a brief rest before working through the sequence again. Everyone worked very hard and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor workout with feedback saying it is better than running in the gym!!!
